Antigua Sailing Week has launched its 2023 Youth to Keel Programme which is again sponsored by Axxess Marine. This year the programme is split into Freshers, students who have not yet been part of the programme and need competent crew training before being qualified to take part, and Seniors who have previous experience and in many cases are established crew on boats year round.
The Y2K programme gives youth sailors from the NSA and AYC who don’t have existing crew roles the opportunity to go on board yachts in Antigua Sailing Week and experience racing as part of a crew in a World Class Regatta. Its a long challenging week for many of the youths and leads to a better understanding of the opportunities available to them in the sport and the industry.
